Profile![]() United Tractors Group is a primary supplier of heavy equipment and related services in Indonesia with total assets exceeds Rp 5.58 trillion at end of 2000. As a major distributor of heavy equipment in Indonesia, PT United Tractors Tbk (UT) has significant market share in manufacturing, mining and exports industry. Among UT's objectives are: to achieve a long-term sustainable growth, to be an asset to the country, to provide the best services to customers, to respect the individuals, to commit itself to teamwork, and finally to constantly striving for excellence. History UT was established on October 13th, 1972 initially named PT Astra Motor Works, with PT Astra International Tbk as the majority shareholder. Later on, the name was changed to PT United Tractors. Since then, UT was involved mainly in the distribution of the worldwide known Komatsu heavy equipment products from Komatsu Ltd, Japan as the sole distributor in Indonesia. In 1970, UT has expanded its business into manufacturing and engineering, with its basic location at Jalan Raya Bekasi km. 22, Cakung, Jakarta Timur. Aim to expand into services and product support, in 1981 UT also established several Affiliated Company (Affco). All of parts and service support provided by UT is called the Total Service, aims to realize the company's commitment to its customers to achieve the lowest life time cost per total output. Education and training is also provided to fulfill customer needs for operator, mechanic, site manager and parts officer. This service can be given in project site and/ or in one of UT's four training centers: Jakarta (to cover Java and Pontianak area), Pekanbaru (for West Indonesia), Samarinda (for Central Indonesia) and Ujung Pandang (for East Indonesia). Construction Machinery also includes the business of PT United Tractors Pandu Engineering (UTE) and PT Pandu Dayatama Patria (PDP), both contributed to almost 10% of the total consolidated revenue of UT Group in year 2000. Another subsidiaries and affiliated companies in this division are PT Komatsu Indonesia Tbk (KI), Komatsu Remanufacturing Asia (KRA), Sunray Pte. Ltd, UT Heavy Industry Pte. Ltd and United Ostermeyer Engineering. With these competitive advantages, UT is ready to enter the global market of heavy industry. In year 2000, UT has achieved 46% of the domestic market share of heavy equipment sales in Indonesia, well above the 25,6% maintained by its closest competitor. 2. Mining Contracting
In mid 2000, Pama began the new Petangis project under contract with Broken Hill Propietary (BHP) in East Kalimantan, as well as other contract with Kadya Caraka Mulya (KCM) in Banarbaru, South kalimantan. At the end of 2000, Pama was awarded the Sangatta project by Kaltim Prima Coal (KPC). These new contracts are evidence of trust given to Pama from mining operators.
