Environment, Health and Safety

The Company,is committed to implement AGC, AFC, and SMS (Security Management System) policies. These policies are synergized with the Company's own ideals and integrated into each of its activities. The objective is to create a safe and comfortable condition for employees and the environment alike, as well as improving the quality of life for the people within the surrounding areas. In the face of dynamic developments in its business, the Company and subsidiaries strive to combine the three basic elements that comprise the Triple Bottom Line mentality, a simultaneous balance of economic, social and environmental aspects as a strategy to ensure business sustainability.

The Company adopts AGC policy as framework in the fields of environment, health and safety (EHS).
 
The development and implementation of AGC is not merely focused on improving EHS performance but also on a macro-scale, targeted to achieve operational excellence in all fields. Within the Company's surrounding, EHS & SR are the responsibility of the entire employees, which is why the top management in each installation has to serve as the main driver to ensure well-executed EHS & SR activities. In order to obtain a consistent level of awareness, the Company conducts EHS and SR awareness enhancement programs, through trainings, seminars, posters, intranet, bulletins, induction program and more.
 
For Awareness's step-up EHS'S area is divided as:
 

Environment

As implemented as care to environmental continuity, the Company participates in Environmental's aspek such as contribute in programs planting and treatment trees in city's garden,city's forest or another open space. This Go Green's program performed by all branch and site UT in all Indonesia, with policy 1 employee, obligatoryplanting trees, and until its performing month of June 2008, full scale overall UT have gotten contribution in programs Go Green to amount to + 8000 trees.
 
Be another UT contribution deep environment's continuity which is in order to Bulan K3 and also HUT Balikpapan's City that goes to 112, and to create clear's Balikpapan city , with secretly goverment of Balikpapan does estimation to environmental hygiene, including waste management. In this case UT is Balikpapan's branch getting the 1st champion for Middle Company, this is because value added have in waste processing facet,planting, and farm exploitation.
 
Environmental continuity as a part of company responsibility. That its cause, Following company participates in extraordinaries condition DemamBerdarah at territorial RW 1 Cakung's sub-district West by undertaking Fogging, and also giving fruit's seed which be planted out at RW's surrounding garden in that areas.
 

Health

In order to reach UT's VISION 2010 which is ”To Be The World Class Solution Driven Company In Heavy Equipment, Mining, and Energy for the benefit of stakeholderd” needful willingness all employee for continually studies, labor, creative and innovative one so gets to increase ” Work Productivity ”.
 
Point on corporate vision, therefore EHS Department has Mission in order to increase employee work productivity is with increase awareness EHS aspect to reduce its happening job accident, environmental's pollution and diseased effect job. Work productivity's of employee need backup by Productive employee & HEALTHY , therefore of that EHS Department perceives to need marks sense ” Increase qualities's of healthy for Employee ” that designed in a big program that planned and performed with every consideration

To increase health quality for Employee, that split up in 4 Big Program that connected each others which is:

  1. Kuratif's program are health's program care that gets medical therapy character (cure & medical action), as Poliklinik Tooth, Depo Medicine, Independent's Lab.
  2. Rehabilitation program are program health care that gets increasing therapy character to increase physical condition in particular body organ functions because of pain effects, to get working such as previous ability, applied at UT by programs such as health Database program for an Employee, Healthy club for an Employee.
  3. Preventif's program are program health care that gets prevention character to its happening a disease, therefore UT arranges Program healthy Nutrient, Vaccination For An Employee.
  4. Promotif's program are program health care that gets character to give information & consultation about problem health which is in work's condition and also life one days. To Promotive program this UT arranges program – program for example EHS – NET, Health's Seminar, Supervision Services Employee health, ”Ngamen ” MCU'S Result,ext.

Of fourth bigger program that has already been done by UT, therefore expected progressively increases awarenes for an employee about EHS problem, specially in health aspect, and more importantly is increaces an employee's awareness that Preventive disease a better than Currative disease.Besides changes mindset employee to be able to lives healthy, well at office, or even at day-to-day life.

Health is one of human basic requirement, but life fact points out that not everybody at environmentally surrounding company that can get facility and cure that their needs. Company gets commitment to give contribution that is realization in various healthy's help, not only for an employees but also for society about. Programs that running such as free cure for poverty's family, with provide doctor and medical and facility free's medicine for average 120 citizens each month it, year round. On month of February 2007, Company arranges "sunatan massal" to 60 child at environmentally Rawa terate'ssub-district. For activites health care (Posyandu) at Cakung West, Company provides milks and baby foods, one that is given routinely each month it in one year. Meanwhile to prevent disseminator mosquito prevalence Denque's Dengue (DBD), Company also give fogging's program help Extraordinary Condition (KLB) DKI Jakarta.
 

Safety
 
To increase employee's awareness to working safety, Company's arranges various event EHS (Environment, Health & Safety), specially Safety's area which is with change method forwarding information Accident Recall in forms EHS'S Comic which is forwarding safety messege by cartoons, expected that messege can understand to everyone and right target.Also that marks sense accessible EHS NET by all UT's employees that can be acsses by all employee, more ease for an employee to get look for information about EHS.

Also there are some routine activity's that is event to look after employee working safety amongst those is Induction which is recognition the work condition, corporate regulation and also working safety information and a tight hole evacuation in particular for all person a new one are at environmentally UT, Inspection are see working condition what corresponded to standart that prevailing, Friday's Meeting are attended regular meeting by all subcontractor that works at UT to evaluate their performance do corresponded to standart that prevailing. Company also active participates in various activity EHS who is evened out or difasility by institution concerning, as deep as Communication forum Centers Industry Development (PPI) Cakung on month of April 2008, with activity that ranges To Evaluate Performance of AGC, Accidents Statistical evaluation, Performance5K (Orderliness, Elegance, Hygiene, Continuity & discipline),Housekeeping's evaluation, and EHS's issue.
