On Tuesday, April 20, 2010, PT United Tractors Tbk (“UT”) through United Tractors for natuRE and Environment Sustainability (“UTREES”) program, implement Mangrove Plantation at Angke Kapuk Forest Area Jakarta. UTREES is corporate commitment in environment social responsibility. This event attended by Ir. Indriastuti, M.M as Dirjen Land Rehabilitation and Social Forestry Department of Forestry, Representatives of Environment Ministry, Cisman Sitorus as Head of Forestry Division, Maritime Affairs and Forestry, Candra Syah as Chairman of the Foundation for Studies and Development of Mangrove Indonesia, Zukhriatul Hafizah as Miss Environment Indonesia 2009, Djoko Pranoto as UT President Director, UT Board of Directors, Board of Executive Astra Heavy Equipment, Mining, and Energy, also UT employee representation.

To implement this program, UT collaborate with Yayasan Lembaga Pengkajian dan Pengembangan Mangrove Indonesia (LPP Mangrove Indonesia) that participate actively in all activities and efforts related to the protection and preservation of mangrove forests. Mangrove plantation is UT commitment that a portion of Komatsu excavator PC200-8 sales during the year 2010 shares for this program.

Function of mangrove is to restrain the occurrence of soil erosion and absorb carbon level in the air so can reduce the emissions twice larger than another plants. This is in line with the spirit of the Komatsu Excavator PC 200-8, which introduce heavy equipment environmentally friendly with low emission levels.

UTREES program series for mangrove plantation will be implement twice in 2010. The second plantation will be held again on June 5, 2010 to commemorate World Environmental Day.
