| 1. |
NEVER OPERATE OVERHEATED ENGINE FOR ANY LONGER TIME.
Excessively
high oil temperature is a significant factor spoiling the
lubricating oil.
Always operate the engine at temperature within the operating
range of the water temperature gauge.
|
| |
|
| 2. |
NEVER
PERMIT WATER OR DIRT TO CONTAMINATE THE LUBRICATING OIL.
Oil contaminated with water or dirt loses its lubrication
effects.
When replenishing lubricating oil, never permit water or dirt
to enter the oil container.
|
| |
|
| 3. |
REPLACE THE FILTER ELEMENT.
Dirt
or foreign matter in oil is removed by the oil filter element.
The element will become clogged by dirt after a certain period
of time and will not function properly. Be sure to replace
the element every 250 hours as indicated on the service meter.
|
| |
|
| 4. |
CHANGE THE LUBRICATING OIL.
Change
the lubricating oil at the specified intervals, since it will
lose its lubricating effects after a certain period of time.
The oil change intervals should be every 500 hours ( on the
service meter ) for the naturally aspirated engine and every
250 hours for turbocharged engines.
When using the Class-CC or -CB lubricating oil, the above
intervals should be reduced to 1/2 of the regular intervals.
|
| |
|
| 5. |
USE THE SPECIFIED LUBRICATING OIL.
Replenishing
oil should be that of the brand specified by KOMATSU which
has the properties required to withstand the severe operating
condition accompanied with construction machinery.
|
| |
|
| 6. |
USE
A LUBRICATING OIL OF THE PROPER VISCOCITY.
The lubricating oil should be of the proper viscosity to
ensure smooth lubrication of the engine. Either SAE 30 or
SAE IOW should be used depending on the atmospheric temperature,
because the viscosity varies according to the temperature.
