Sukabumi, 14 July 2026 – PT United Tractors Tbk (UT), a subsidiary of PT Astra International Tbk (Astra), reaffirms its commitment to environmental conservation by releasing 10 Timor Deer (Rusa timorensis) into the Cikepuh Wildlife Reserve in Sukabumi Regency, West Java. The initiative is part of UTREES (United Tractors for Nature and Environment Sustainability), UT’s sustainability program implemented in collaboration with IPB University to support biodiversity conservation in Indonesia.

The release marks a significant milestone in the long-term collaboration between UT and IPB University on Timor Deer conservation, which has been ongoing since 2018. Through a breeding and conservation program at the IPB Dramaga Campus Forest Park, the Timor Deer population has grown significantly from an initial eight individuals to 43. Of these, 10 fourth-generation Timor Deer have been assessed as meeting the criteria for release into their natural habitat.

The initiative also involves various stakeholders, including IPB University, the West Java Natural Resources Conservation Agency (BBKSDA), the local village government, and other partners. This multi-stakeholder collaboration is expected to strengthen wildlife conservation efforts while raising public awareness of the importance of preserving Indonesia’s rich biodiversity.

UT Director Ari Sutrisno emphasizes that biodiversity conservation is an integral part of the company’s commitment to sustainable business practices.

“Through the UTREES program, we strive to make a meaningful contribution to the conservation of Indonesia’s endemic wildlife while helping maintain ecological balance. Our collaboration with IPB University and other stakeholders demonstrates that collective action can create a positive impact on the environment and contribute to a more sustainable future,” said Ari.

Timor Deer Release Ceremony.

The Timor Deer (Rusa timorensis) is one of Indonesia’s endemic species and plays a vital role in maintaining ecosystem balance through seed dispersal and forest regeneration. According to the IUCN Red List, the species is classified as Vulnerable, underscoring the need for continuous conservation efforts to ensure the long-term sustainability of its population.

Prior to the release, each deer undergoes a series of preparatory measures, including comprehensive health assessments, individual condition evaluations, habitat suitability surveys, and a two-week habituation process in an adaptation enclosure located within the release area. These measures are designed to enhance the animals’ ability to adapt to their natural environment and increase the likelihood of a successful reintroduction.

The Cikepuh Wildlife Reserve is selected as the release site due to its well-preserved natural habitat, abundant food resources, and vegetation cover that support the survival of the Timor Deer. The reserve is also home to a wide variety of wildlife species, making it an ecologically suitable location for the reintroduction program.

In addition to supporting wildlife conservation, the initiative contributes to the company’s sustainability goals by strengthening its Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) commitments, particularly in biodiversity management. Through its sustainability initiatives, UT continues to implement programs that create lasting value for both the environment and society while fostering collaboration with stakeholders to build a more sustainable future.

“Developing a highly skilled workforce begins with the courage to invest in the younger generation. Through the Heavy Equipment Engineering Student Skills Competition, UT and the South Sulawesi Provincial Education Office are providing more than just a competition; we are building a talent development ecosystem that connects classrooms with the industrial world,” says H. Hery Sumiharto, S.E., M.Ed., Head of the Vocational School Development Division at the South Sulawesi Provincial Education Office.

East Nusa Tenggara, July 4, 2026 – For the people of Persiapan Lewouran Village, East Flores Regency, clean water is more than a daily necessity, it represents hope for a better quality of life. Located on the slopes of Mount Lewotobi Laki-Laki, the village has faced limited access to clean water for many years.

In response to this challenge, PT United Tractors Tbk (UT) has provided access to clean water by constructing deep wells, reaffirming the Company’s commitment to improving the quality of life of communities in need.

“Clean water is essential for meeting daily needs, while also representing hope and creating opportunities for people to live healthier and more productive lives. We are grateful to be part of the effort to provide a sustainable solution for the people of Persiapan Lewouran Village. We hope this facility will be used collectively, maintained responsibly, and continue to benefit future generations,” said Himawan Sutanto, CSR Manager of UT.

Through drilling activities carried out in collaboration with the local community, three groundwater sources were successfully identified at depths ranging from 60 to 90 meters. The availability of these water sources marks an important milestone in providing reliable access to clean water for the entire community of Persiapan Lewouran Village.

To ensure these water sources can be utilized optimally, UT also supported the installation of electricity meters with capacities ranging from 3,500 to 5,500 VA. This support enables the water pumps to operate efficiently according to the depth of each well, allowing for more effective and reliable water distribution.

For UT, providing access to clean water is not merely about building infrastructure; it is about bringing hope. Through close collaboration with the local community, the Company remains committed to creating meaningful social impact that contributes to improving people’s quality of life. This initiative reflects UT’s commitment to growing alongside communities and contributing to a better future for Indonesia.

Central Aceh, 3 July 2026 – Amid the recovery process following the flash floods that struck Central Aceh, students have remained committed to their education. Although learning activities are temporarily being conducted in evacuation tents under challenging conditions, teachers and students continue to demonstrate resilience and determination to ensure that education continues uninterrupted.

In response to these circumstances, PT United Tractors Tbk (UT) Group invited its employees to participate in a book donation initiative to support schools in the affected areas. Through this initiative, a total of 826 textbooks were distributed to SDN 3 Linge and SMPN 9 Takengon, comprising 480 books for SDN 3 Linge and 346 books for SMPN 9 Takengon.

“This assistance reflects the care and spirit of solidarity demonstrated by UT Group employees toward communities recovering from the disaster. We hope these books will become valuable learning resources for students and inspire teachers to continue guiding them in pursuing their dreams,” said Himawan Sutanto, CSR Manager of UT.

The book distribution was carried out in collaboration with the Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education (Kemendikdasmen), based on recommendations from the beneficiary schools, with support from the Central Aceh Regency Education Office to ensure the assistance reached the schools that needed it most.

For students, these textbooks are more than just learning materials, they symbolize that they are not facing this difficult time alone. Continued support from various stakeholders is expected to provide renewed motivation for both teachers and students, enabling them to continue the learning process until school conditions fully recover.

UT remains committed to making a positive contribution to communities, including during emergency response and post-disaster recovery efforts.
Surabaya, 26 June 2026 – As part of the Astra Group’s commitment to fostering resilient and sustainable communities, PT United Tractors Tbk (UT), a subsidiary of PT Astra International Tbk (Astra), in collaboration with the National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB), organizes the Training of Trainers (ToT) for Disaster-Resilient Villages (Kampung Tangguh Bencana/KATANA) from 22–26 June 2026 at UT School Surabaya, East Java.

The program forms part of UT’s ongoing efforts to support Astra Group’s social contribution initiatives by strengthening the capacity of village communities to become more prepared, responsive, and resilient in the face of potential disasters. Through its collaboration with BNPB, participants gain knowledge and practical skills in disaster risk reduction, mitigation, preparedness, and emergency response.

“Through the KATANA Training of Trainers program, UT, together with BNPB, is committed to strengthening the capacity of village cadres so they can serve as facilitators and catalysts for disaster preparedness within their communities. We believe that communities equipped with the knowledge and capabilities to mitigate disaster risks are better prepared to face various challenges, enabling our partner villages to become more resilient, self-reliant, and empowered,” says Himawan.

The training brings together Disaster-Resilient Village cadres from UT’s partner villages who are members of the Disaster Risk Reduction Forum (Forum Pengurangan Risiko Bencana/FPRB), including Sumbergondo, Tulungrejo, Giripurno, Mojorejo, Gumingsir, Tawangargo, Aribaya, and Sumbermujur villages. The program also involves representatives from the Regional Disaster Management Agencies (Badan Penanggulangan Bencana Daerah/BPBD) of Malang Regency, Batu City, Banjarnegara Regency, Lumajang Regency, and the East Java Provincial BPBD as strategic partners in strengthening disaster risk reduction efforts.

Throughout the five-day program, participants take part in a comprehensive series of learning activities facilitated directly by BNPB trainers. The training includes pre-tests, classroom sessions, role-playing exercises, and disaster simulations conducted in person. This learning approach ensures that participants not only strengthen their understanding of disaster mitigation concepts but also develop the practical skills needed to apply them effectively in real-life situations.

Through this training, UT aims to equip participants with the knowledge and skills to become capable facilitators who can educate their respective communities on the importance of disaster preparedness and disaster risk reduction. The presence of these trained village cadres is expected to strengthen a culture of disaster awareness at the community level while fostering more resilient, self-reliant, and disaster-ready villages.

The implementation of the KATANA Training of Trainers reflects UT’s commitment, as part of the Astra Group, to creating long-term value for communities through sustainable social responsibility programs.
