Amid the rapid advancement of technology and the ever-growing demands of the industry, Indonesia’s hopes for the future rest in the hands of skilled and competitive young talents. This drives PT United Tractors Tbk (UT) to fully support the organization of the Lomba Kompetensi Siswa Nasional (LKSN) for the Heavy Equipment Engineering (TAB) category. Throughout this year, UT actively participates in the LKSN events held in South Kalimantan, South Sumatra, East Java, and Central Java, providing opportunities for vocational high school (SMK) students to compete healthily, hone their skills, and broaden their industrial knowledge.

“UT’s involvement in the LKSN is part of our commitment to supporting the development of quality vocational education relevant to industry needs. We believe that vocational school students have great potential to become agents of change in the future. This program aims to provide more than just facilities; we want to create opportunities, build confidence, and instill passion in the participants,” says UT’s CSR Manager, Himawan Sutanto.

The grand final of the National Heavy Equipment Engineering Competition takes place from July 27 to 30, 2025, in Cakung, East Jakarta. As the host, UT welcomes 38 top participants from 19 provinces. Through its social responsibility pillar in education (UTFUTURE), UT believes that Indonesia’s future depends on the quality of its human resources. Support for LKSN is a tangible manifestation of UT’s commitment to implementing Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) principles to create a lasting positive impact.

After rigorous and challenging skill assessments, the delegation from Central Java, SMK Maarif NU 1 Sumpiuh, is awarded first place. Second place goes to SMKS Bina Bangsa Dampit, East Java, and third place is won by SMKN 36 Jakarta from DKI Jakarta. In addition to medals and certificates, all three winners receive monetary awards and educational scholarships from Astra Tech for the Applied Bachelor of Heavy Equipment Maintenance Engineering Technology (TRPAB) program.

UT hopes that collaboration between industry and education continues to grow sustainably, creating a relevant, adaptive, and future-oriented learning ecosystem. Through this program, young generations are equipped with technical skills and the readiness to make fundamental contributions in the workforce and face the industry’s ever-evolving challenges.
