Jakarta, September 25, 2025 – PT United Tractors Tbk (UT) Group once again holds its Workshop Wartawan, carrying the theme “AI in the Newsroom: Transforming Journalism, Collaboration, and Sustainability.” The event takes place at the Tiara Ballroom, Mangkuluhur Artotel Suites, South Jakarta, and is attended by journalists from various national media outlets. This program reflects UT Group’s commitment to building strategic relations with the press while strengthening the company’s reputation sustainably. The event is structured into three key segments: writing and photography competitions, workshop sessions with industry experts, and a corporate update highlighting business performance and strategic initiatives from UT Group subsidiaries.

The workshop includes the Deputy Minister of Communication and Digital Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia, Nezar Patria, alongside Ari Sutrisno, Director of Corporate Human Capital, Communication, and Sustainability of UT. The sessions feature distinguished speakers, including Information Technology Expert Onno W. Purbo and AI & Digital Forensics Expert Ruby Alamsyah. Meanwhile, the corporate update segment showcases representatives from various UT Group subsidiaries, including Ari Setiyawan and Sara K. Loebis from PT United Tractors Tbk; Boy G. Kalauserang from PT Energia Prima Nusantara (EPN); Gunawan Setiadi from PT Pamapersada Nusantara (PAMA); and Katarina Siburian H. from PT Agincourt Resources (PTAR).

In his remarks, Deputy Minister Nezar Patria expresses his appreciation for the initiative. He highlights that while AI technology continues to advance rapidly and can have disruptive effects, the biggest challenge in journalism lies in shifting reader behavior and the influence of social media. “Workshops like this are a forum for networking and a highly educational platform. Amid these changes, we must uphold verification discipline and the ethical values of journalism. Technology can be learned, but dedication to truth remains the essence of real journalism,” he states.

Meanwhile, Ari Sutrisno emphasizes that digitalization becomes a significant transformation within UT Group, now further reinforced by the adoption of AI technology. “We greatly value the continuous support from journalists who walk this journey with us. Let us keep building good communication, strengthening kinship, and growing together. Our special thanks go to Metro TV for collaborating with us in organizing this event. We hope this program continues to evolve,” Ari says.

In the corporate update session, UT Group openly shares its business achievements, growth strategies, and sustainability initiatives. The program strengthens partnerships with the media and nurtures an ecosystem of adaptive, competent, and highly competitive journalists. The series of activities culminates with the announcement of winners for the writing and photography competitions in both the journalist and student categories.

With initiatives such as the Journalist Workshop, UT Group reaffirms its commitment to driving sustainable business growth and fostering a responsible and healthy communication ecosystem. Collaboration with the media remains essential to UT’s sustainability strategy, as transparent and credible information is fundamental to building public trust. By strengthening synergy with the press, UT strives to create a positive and lasting impact—not only for the company but also for society and the broader industry.
