PT United Tractors Tbk (UT) participates in the events commemorating the National Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR) Month 2025 held in Mojokerto, East Java, from October 1–3, 2025. The event, initiated by the National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB) in collaboration with the East Java Provincial Government, carries the theme “Disasters Cannot Wait, Preparedness Comes First” with the local tagline “Tangguh Rek!” (Be Resilient!). This theme serves as a reminder that, amidst unpredictable natural challenges, preparedness and care are the foundations of a nation’s resilience.

In his speech, the Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Cultural Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia, Prof. Dr. Pratikno, M.Soc.Sc., emphasizes the importance of cultivating a culture of preparedness early on.

“Emergency response is important, but prevention is far more essential. Let’s make preparedness a culture, starting from simple actions such as not littering to prevent floods. The role of communities, religious leaders, places of worship, and village heads is crucial in building collective resilience,” he states.

Throughout the event, UT embodies the spirit of cooperation through various humanitarian and educational activities. One activity involves participants and residents: a blood donation drive with the Indonesian Red Cross (PMI), Mojokerto City.

Another proud moment comes from SMK Bina Bangsa Dampit, one of UT’s assisted schools, which wins 1st Place in the National Disaster Preparedness Simulation Video Competition in the Institutional Collaboration category. This achievement highlights how collaboration and creativity can be powerful tools for disaster education.

Disaster literacy activities also take place through the “Ranking 1” Disaster Preparedness Quiz Competition for elementary to high school levels, engaging more than 200 students across East Java. UT further provides educational tools such as disaster-themed board games and books, making learning fun and memorable.

UT-assisted schools achieve remarkable results: SDN Sumbergondo 02 wins 3rd Place and 1st Runner-Up (Elementary Category). At the same time, SMK PGRI 2 Ponorogo secures 2nd Runner-Up (High School Category), a testament to how resilience grows from even the simplest learning spaces.

For UT, participation in the National DRR Month is more than just a CSR initiative; it represents the company’s commitment to fostering resilience and improving human resource capacity.

“As part of the Indonesian community, we believe that building national resilience is not solely the government’s duty but also a shared responsibility with the private sector. Through various sustainability initiatives, UT strives to strengthen public awareness and capacity to anticipate potential disasters better,” states CSR Manager of UT, Himawan Sutanto.

UT also demonstrates environmental care through a green action, donating 1,000 fruit tree seedlings, including avocado, durian, jackfruit, cempedak, breadfruit, mango, and rambutan, symbolically planted during the event. This initiative represents that preparedness is about rapid response and maintaining ecological balance for sustainable life.

In support of MSME empowerment, UT invites one of its assisted businesses, Kopi Arjuno, to serve local East Javanese coffee during the sharing session and the main event of DRR Month. Several key figures attend the DRR National 2025 main event, including BNPB Head Lt. Gen. Dr. Suharyanto, East Java Vice Governor Emil Elestianto Dardak, and Mojokerto Regent Muhammad Al Barra.

UT’s participation in National Disaster Risk Reduction Month underscores the company’s continuous efforts to implement the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). For UT, building a resilient nation is not only about responding to disasters; it is also about nurturing empathy, togetherness, and the collective spirit to keep moving forward because preparedness is not merely an action but a culture of caring for life itself.
