Jakarta, 25 November 2025 – PT United Tractors Pandu Engineering (UTPE), a subsidiary of PT United Tractors Tbk (UT), receives the Platinum Alignment award for its Hegar Berseri Waste Bank Program at the 2025 Sustainability Communication Awards. La Tofi School of Social Responsibility presents the recognition during the awarding ceremony held at Ramayana Terrace, Hotel Indonesia Kempinski Jakarta.
During the event, UTPE’s Department Head of Corporate Safety, Sustainability & General Services, Yanuar Adi Pawoko, delivers a session titled “Waste Stories from UTPE.” In his presentation, Yanuar shares UTPE’s progressive and sustainable journey in developing a waste bank, including the provision of supportive facilities, capacity-building for waste bank managers, and the development of recycled products that create economic value for the community.
“The Hegar Berseri Waste Bank Program is tangible proof of UTPE’s commitment to delivering integrated environmental solutions while opening economic opportunities for the community. We aim to ensure that every assistance process brings long-term social and economic benefits,” says Yanuar.
The Hegar Berseri Waste Bank Program is a community empowerment initiative designed to improve residents’ well-being while reducing household waste through an integrated waste management system. Located in Cimuning Village, Bekasi City, the program involves various community groups, including homemakers, youth, and MSME actors.
Through its waste savings mechanism, residents exchange inorganic waste for economic value. The collected waste is processed into various creative products, including recycled bags, PVC decorative lamps, used cooking oil soap, painted bottles, keychains, compost fertilizer, maggot cultivation, and fish pellets. Program execution is supported through facility provision, technical training, routine assistance, and multi-stakeholder collaboration.
To date, the program delivers significant impact, including an additional Rp53 million in community income, the reduction of more than 26 tons of waste, and direct benefits for 165 beneficiaries. Beyond that, the Hegar Berseri Waste Bank evolves into an environmental education center, a creative economy hub, and a collaborative space for cross-sector stakeholders.
As part of UT Group’s commitment to supporting the Sustainable Development Goals, UTPE continues to strengthen and expand the program’s implementation by integrating environmental, social, and economic empowerment aspects to generate a broader, positive impact for communities and the environment surrounding the company’s operational areas.
