Kutai Barat, January 27, 2026 – Efforts to develop a resilient, competitive, and safety-conscious young generation continue to strengthen through cross-sector collaboration. This commitment reflects the working visit of the Vice Chairman of the East Kalimantan Provincial House of Representatives (DPRD), Ekti Imanuel, S.H., M.M., to SMKN 3 Sendawar, a fostered school of PT United Tractors Tbk (UT) under the SOBAT UT Program at the Muaralawa Site.
The visit serves as an important catalyst for synergy between the regional government and the private sector to support improvements in education quality in Kutai Barat Regency, East Kalimantan, while simultaneously fostering early awareness of disaster risk preparedness among students.
“We hope that this synergy strengthens awareness of the importance of safety and preparedness from an early age. Schools play a strategic role in shaping the character of young generations who are not only job-ready but also prepared to face various risks and challenges, including potential disasters,” says the Senior Manager of UT Site Muaralawa.
The series of activities commences with the implementation of the K3 Goes to SOBAT Program, organized by the ESR Department of UT Site Muaralawa in collaboration with the Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) of Kutai Barat Regency. The program features seminars and emergency preparedness simulations conducted by the Emergency Preparedness and Response Team (TKTD), involving students and educators of SMKN 3 Sendawar.

Through an interactive, hands-on educational approach, participants receive fundamental knowledge of occupational safety, emergency response procedures, and disaster risk mitigation measures applicable in both the school environment and daily life. This initiative aims to instill a strong culture of safety and disaster preparedness from an early age, positioning schools not only as centers of academic learning but also as platforms for character development and life-readiness.
This program represents a tangible manifestation of UT Site Muaralawa’s commitment to supporting the development of resilient, high-quality human resources with a strong safety orientation, as an integral part of the company’s sustainability practices. As part of the visit, the East Kalimantan Provincial DPRD also provides school furniture to SMKN 3 Sendawar to support improvements to educational facilities and infrastructure. The assistance is symbolically handed over by Ekti Imanuel, S.H., M.M.
Also in attendance are representatives of UT Site Muaralawa, including the ESR Department Head of UT Site Muaralawa, Michael Erba, as well as ESRO UT Site Muaralawa representatives Ketut Satria Wiguna and Thaariq Riyan Pribady, along with the BPBD Kutai Barat team, who actively contribute to strengthening the capacity of educational institutions in disaster risk reduction and management.
Through sustained collaboration among government institutions, the private sector, and educational stakeholders, SMKN 3 Sendawar is expected to continue developing into an educational institution that not only produces competent graduates but also nurtures a generation that is resilient, safety-aware, and environmentally responsible in facing future challenges.
