Jakarta, March 30, 2026 – PT United Tractors Tbk (UT) reaffirms its commitment to sustainable business practices by achieving the EDGE green building certification for the UT Corporate University building in Cakung, East Jakarta. The Green Building Council Indonesia (GBCI) issues the certification on February 25, 2026, following an audit on February 12, 2026, in accordance with the International Finance Corporation (IFC) global standards.
The UT Corporate University stands as more than just a learning facility; it tangibly represents the company’s commitment to integrating sustainability principles into its operations. The building achieves outstanding performance, saving up to 67% in energy, delivering 33% water efficiency, and reducing embodied carbon by 99%. These results significantly exceed the minimum EDGE requirements of 20% efficiency in energy, water, and materials, and surpass the 40% energy efficiency threshold for the EDGE Advanced category.
“This EDGE Advanced certification is a concrete manifestation of our commitment to integrating sustainability principles into every aspect of our operations, including the development of learning facilities. We believe that efforts in energy, water, and material efficiency not only have a positive environmental impact but also create long-term value for the company,” says Dianwahyu Sri Purnomo, Head of Corporate Communications and Sustainability Division of UT.
The company supports this achievement by implementing various environmentally friendly technologies and design innovations. These include using high-performance glass to reduce heat, installing energy-efficient LED lighting systems, and adding roof insulation to enhance building efficiency. UT also harnesses renewable energy through an on-grid solar PV system with a capacity of 36.72 kWp and optimizes high-efficiency HVAC (heating, ventilation, and air conditioning) systems.
To improve water efficiency, the building incorporates water-saving fixtures, including eco-showers, faucets, toilets, and urinals. It also features a rainwater-harvesting system that recycles rainwater for operational use. In terms of materials, UT achieves sustainability by reusing the existing building structure and utilizing more efficient, low-carbon materials.
The EDGE certification process includes several comprehensive stages: the organization identifies opportunities for green building implementation, conducts pre-assessments and reporting simulations, prepares official reports, and completes final audits and validation by the certification body before receiving the certificate. This process ensures the building meets sustainability standards holistically.
By attaining the EDGE Advanced certification, UT strengthens its position as a sustainability-oriented company and actively supports carbon emission reduction and the promotion of green building concepts in Indonesia.
