Jakarta, October 14, 2026 – PT United Tractors Tbk (UT), together with its subsidiaries, continues to strengthen its relationships and collaboration with the media through the 2026 UT Group Media Workshop. Held under the theme “Human Journalism in the Age of AI: Strengthening Trust and Media Credibility,” the event takes place at the Mezzanine Ballroom, Hotel Aryaduta Tugu Tani, Central Jakarta. The workshop provides a platform to discuss and exchange perspectives on journalism’s role in maintaining public trust amid advances in artificial intelligence (AI).
As an annual program, the UT Group Media Workshop provides an opportunity for UT to maintain positive and sustainable relationships with media partners while sharing insights into emerging issues and trends in journalism. This year, the event brings together 65 journalists, including reporters and editors from various national media outlets. The agenda includes a keynote speech, panel discussion, question-and-answer session, and the announcement of the 2026 Journalist Competition winners.
UT Director of Corporate Human Capital, Communications & Sustainability, Ari Sutrisno, emphasizes that relationships between companies and the media should be built on open communication, dialogue, and mutual trust that develops over time. As UT celebrates its 54th anniversary on October 13, 2026, the company recognizes its relationship with the media as an important part of its ongoing journey to learn, adapt, and maintain stakeholder trust.
“For us, relationships with the media are not solely about publications, but also about building communication, engaging in dialogue, and respecting each other’s roles. Through the UT Group Media Workshop, we hope to continue providing a space for exchanging perspectives and learning together in a constructive environment. We also hope this event brings added value to our journalist colleagues while strengthening relationships built on openness and trust,” says Ari.
Advancing AI continues to transform how information is produced, processed, and distributed. While the technology offers many opportunities for the media industry, it also creates challenges in ensuring accuracy, understanding context, and upholding journalistic ethics. Amid the increasingly rapid flow of information, human judgment in verification, ethical decision-making, and the ability to convey empathy remain essential to maintaining reporting quality and public trust.
As keynote speaker, Member of the Indonesian Press Council and Chair of its Commission on Legal and Legislative Affairs, Abdul Manan shares his perspective on journalism’s challenges and evolving role amid advances in AI. The discussion highlights the importance of upholding verification principles and journalistic professionalism to ensure that technological progress is used responsibly without compromising the quality of information the public receives.
“Amid the rapid advancement of artificial intelligence, journalism continues to bear the responsibility of delivering accurate, verified, and balanced information. AI can support journalistic processes, but it cannot replace journalists’ role in fact-checking, understanding context, and considering the impact of information on the public. Therefore, maintaining public trust must remain the fundamental principle of journalistic practice,” says Abdul Manan.

Moderated by Soza Hutapea, news anchor at BeritaSatu, the session explores AI’s advancement from technological and media industry perspectives, highlighting its implications for journalistic practices, information credibility, and public trust.
In addition to the workshop, UT Group organizes the 2026 Journalist Competition, featuring two categories: journalistic writing and AI-generated poster design. Running from August 20 to September 27, 2026, the competition gives journalists a platform to showcase their creativity while encouraging responsible technology use in journalism. As of mid-September 2026, the competition has 40 participants: 29 in the writing category and 11 in the AI poster category. The winners are announced during the 2026 UT Group Media Workshop.
Through these initiatives, UT reaffirms its commitment to fostering sustainable relationships with the media, built on openness, constructive dialogue, and mutual respect for each other’s independence and professionalism. UT believes that long-term sustainability is defined not only by an organization’s longevity but also by its ability to continuously learn, adapt, and maintain stakeholder trust. With this commitment, UT aims to further strengthen its collaboration with the media and contribute to a credible, responsible, and trustworthy information ecosystem.
