PT United Tractors Tbk (UT) continues to implement Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) principles in all of its operations. On this occasion, UT organized a sports competition with Special Olympics Indonesia (SOIna) disability athletes and chess-trained athletes in the “UT Inspiring Games” event. This event is part of the activities celebrating UT’s 51st anniversary and combines sports and donations. The event took place on October 9, 2023, at the Employee Center UT in Jakarta.

The competitions in this event included table tennis and chess, which were participated in by UT executives and employees. The aim was to increase employees’ awareness of the importance of DEI in the company while also promoting the health and fitness of UT personnel along with their mentored athletes.

UT Inspiring Games is a concrete step toward fostering a culture of inclusivity and social responsibility. This event not only celebrates UT’s 51st anniversary but also strengthens the company’s commitment to prioritizing sustainability that can positively impact the environment, society, and the community.

“These races are part of UT’s 51st-anniversary celebrations but have a different essence due to the presence of donations. This symbolizes UT’s gratitude for what it has by sharing with others. Through this event, UT reminds us of values like sportsmanship and integrity. Through sports, honesty becomes an essential part of showing respect for others. Moreover, diversity is not an obstacle to participation but a means of unity,” said UT Director Edhie Sarwono.

The donations will be directed to SLB Kusumo Asih, a school designed for special needs children with fifty students. Through these donations, the hope is to improve access to education for these students.

In addition, UT Inspiring Games also organized a Speed Chess Competition & Coaching Clinic, which was attended by 51 UT employee representatives and two mentored chess athletes, Novendra Priasmoro and Aditya Bagus Arfan. Novendra achieved the title of Grand Master (GM) at 18, while Adit received the title of International Master (IM) in August 2023. At the event’s climax, ten UT employee representatives successfully qualified to face the two chess athletes. As a closing ceremony, the final ten UT representatives who persevered with Novendra and Adit were honored, followed by a Coaching Clinic session to support the development of chess in the company.

UT will continue to be a company in Indonesia committed to providing opportunities for disabled individuals to participate in public activities. Furthermore, UT will contribute positively through various sustainability programs across its operational areas.
