Osaka, August 26, 2025 – Amid the strong currents of globalization, PT United Tractors Tbk (UT) reaffirms its commitment to preserving and introducing Indonesia’s rich traditional arts to the world. This commitment was realized through the participation of UT’s fostered dance troupe in the World Osaka Expo 2025, an international event that serves as a cultural meeting ground for nations across the globe.

“Our involvement in this event is not merely about presenting traditional dances, but about bringing a message of harmony from Indonesia to the world. From the foothills of Mount Arjuno, these young performers have proven that art transcends language, connects nations, and strengthens Indonesia’s cultural diplomacy,” said Himawan Sutanto, CSR Manager of UT.

From August 20–22, 2025, the Sanggar Karsa Budaya Nuswantara dance troupe from Sumbergondo Village, Mount Arjuno, performed at the Indonesia Pavilion for three days. With the overarching theme “Thriving in Harmony,” they showcased meaningful dance pieces, including Ontran-Ontran Giri Wono, Indrokilo, Guntaraya, Arjuna Wiwaha, and Trenggana Sumapala Sang Turangga.

Sanggar Karsa Budaya Nuswantara is no ordinary dance community. Established in 2008 at the foothills of Mount Arjuno and led by Agus Mardianto, it now houses 203 members, ranging from children to adults. From their humble village, they practice a broad spectrum of traditional, creative, modern, and contemporary arts to preserve ancestral heritage. For these dancers, the opportunity to perform in Osaka is a valuable experience and a dream come true to dance before the world as young cultural ambassadors of Indonesia.

Preparations for this international stage began in early 2025. The dancers underwent intensive training, created new works based on the curator’s input, and prepared costumes and performance props. On August 17, 2025, a group of eight dancers and two chaperones departed for Osaka. Astra, the parent company of UT, fully supported the event.

The World Expo is recognized as the world’s third-largest global event after the Olympics and the World Cup, with participation from over 150 countries. This year, the Osaka Expo highlights sustainable development (SDGs), innovation, and socio-cultural exchange issues.

UT, alongside Sanggar Karsa Budaya Nuswantara is a testament that cultural preservation can go hand in hand with diplomacy and development. More than just entertainment, these dances are a universal language that delivers messages of harmony, friendship, and diversity in Indonesia. UT believes that preserving culture safeguards ancestral heritage and builds bridges toward a future of harmony for Indonesia and the world.
