Kolaka, 20 August 2025 – In a regency in Southeast Sulawesi, local youth are finally starting to pursue their big dreams. UT School, an educational institution managed by Yayasan Karya Bakti United Tractors (YKBUT), a foundation under PT United Tractors Tbk (UT), opens its regular class for the heavy equipment mechanic program in Kolaka Regency, Southeast Sulawesi Province. The opening of this class reflects UT School’s continued commitment to prepare a competent, professional, and industry-ready generation for the heavy equipment sector.
This new class marks the establishment of IT School Kolaka Batch 38 at SMKN 9 Kolaka. A total of 26 students are selected from over 140 applicants to join this program. The training journey at UT School is not just about technical skills. Before entering the classroom, students participate in a 10-day Mental and Attitude Development Program (Bintalsik) conducted with the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI) at Military District Command 1412/Kolaka. This stage serves as an important foundation to build resilience, discipline, and strong character in preparing them for the workforce.
Following that, students undergo three months of In-Class Training, followed by eight months of On-the-Job Training (OJT) at various operational sites within the UT Group. At the end of the program, they take a competency certification exam administered by the Indonesian Heavy Equipment Professional Certification Institute (LSPABI).

To support the learning process, UT School prepares experienced instructors, modern training facilities, and practical equipment, such as electric simulators, cutaway components, and complete toolboxes. All of these are designed to ensure that students not only learn, but also fully prepare to face real-world industry challenges.
The presence of UT School in Kolaka opens new opportunities for the youth of Southeast Sulawesi to grow and achieve success in the industrial world. More than just producing mechanics, this program serves as a bridge for local youth to build their future, become certified professionals, and make a real contribution to Indonesia’s development.
