Jakarta, February 7, 2024 – PT United Tractors Tbk (UT) strengthens its commitment to improving the quality of education in Indonesia through the UT Partner Schools Program (SOBAT). This time, UT held Regional Coordination Meetings (Rakorda) at four locations in Indonesia: Riau, West Sumatra, East Kalimantan, and North Kalimantan. This SOBAT Rakorda collaborated with stakeholders including education agencies, local governments, and dozens of UT partner schools.

UT CSR Manager Himawan Sutanto emphasized that the SOBAT Rakorda is a momentum for UT and education stakeholders to synergize the 2024 SOBAT programs to improve the quality of education for students in UT partner schools. This Rakorda also serves as a platform for UT to explore the potential of foster school students further through various programs prepared for this year.

“The SOBAT Rakorda is an effort that UT undertakes with local governments to create programs that can produce expert graduates in their fields and build a good school reputation to become a leading school. Collaborations like this will continue to be consistent as UT contributes maximally to the SOBAT program throughout Indonesia,” said Himawan Sutanto.

Seven foster schools attended the SOBAT Rakorda in the Riau and West Sumatra areas on January 22-23, 2024, at SMK Global Cendekia, Kampar, Riau Province. The discussions during this event included evaluating and strengthening the 2024 SOBAT Grand Plan, which contains progress, achievements, and feedback and encourages accelerating linkages and matches between schools and UT as industrial partners.

Furthermore, the SOBAT Rakorda in East Kalimantan and North Kalimantan took place over two days on February 6-7, 2024. This event was attended by 25 UT foster schools located at the BPVP Hall, Samarinda City. On this occasion, UT signed cooperation agreements to implement 14 SOBAT programs, including curriculum and teaching methods, student skills competitions, SOBAT competitions, production-based factories, teacher and student training, teacher and student internships, student competency assessments, teacher certification and competencies, industrial culture, UT School recruitment, industrial visits, teaching aids, classroom standardization and workshops, and safety centers. UT also provided a grant of heavy equipment, a Komatsu HD 1500-5 Differential Unit, to SMKN Muhammadiyah Loajanan.

SOBAT is a UT sustainability initiative under the CSR pillar in education, known as UT for Education and Bright Future (UTFUTURE). SOBAT currently mentors 1,614 schools spread across Indonesia to build the nation’s future through coaching and mentoring programs at various levels of education in Indonesian schools. This program aligns with Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) point four, related to inclusive and equitable quality education.

Through UT’s tangible contributions, it is hoped that all partner schools can increase their capacity resilience and positively impact their surrounding areas. Additionally, this program serves as the Company’s effort to create added value and nurture a more talented, competitive, and independent young generation of Indonesia.

Also present at the event were Ardan Simeru, Head of Vocational High School Department, Riau Provincial Education Office; Ahmad Badwi, SMK Section Head, East Kalimantan Provincial Education Office; Muhammad Yasir, Head of BVPV Samarinda City; and Kukuh Eko, General Affairs Subdivision Head of BVPV Samarinda City.
