Lombok, October 24th, 2022 – Kopi Leong, an MSME fostered by United Tractors, won the title of “Coffee with the Best Taste” from North Lombok in the 2022 Business Development Services (BDS) event organized by the East Mataram Tax Service Office (KPP) on October 20-24, 2022 at Pendopo Tasola, North Lombok Regency. Kopi Leong’s achievements are inseparable from the full support of UT. This achievement is proof that the MSMEs fostered by UT have good quality to be able to compete in the market.

Kopi Leong is one of the results of UT’s CSR program in the economic field, namely UTGROWTH (United Tractors for Generating Opportunities and Wealth). UTGROWTH provides a fostering program by increasing and developing the potential of Kopi Leong through training on packaging, promotion and human resources, as well as engaging Kopi Leong in various competitions. This initiative is carried out as part of the Company’s efforts to achieve sustainability for the community around UT’s operational areas through the implementation of ESG (Enviromental, Social and Governance).

“Kopi Leong’s achievement motivates us to be consistent in supporting MSMEs to be more advanced and independent, so that they can help to create a prosperous society. This MSME fostering program is a concrete manifestation of our contribution to communiting in Indonesia.” said UT CSR Manager, Himawan Sutanto.

Fostering MSMEs is one of UT’s focuses in realizing a sustainable business. Through the development of MSMEs, the Company has the responsibility to work with the community to increase its potential and economic value.

The 2022 Business Development Services (BDS) competition was participated by ten contestants from North Lombok, who were then selected to five who passed to the next stage. In the final stage, Kopi Leong was selected as a coffee with special characteristics that produce the best taste. All contestants featured the Robusta coffee variety from North Lombok.

Besides holding a competition for the best coffee taste, 2022 Business Development Services (BDS) also held educational activities regarding coffee processing and brewing, as well as providing materials related to the People’s Business Credit (KUR) program delivered by representatives from the Ministry of Cooperatives and SMEs and Islamic banking. Education related to coffee and business development provides provisions for coffee farmers in the North Lombok region to develop their business.

UT’s support to Kopi Leong is expected to open up more opportunities to maximize every potential, so that Kopi Leong production can compete both nationally and internationally so as to create prosperity for the surrounding community.
