Healthy oceans are home to diverse marine life, including sea turtles, which have played a vital role in maintaining the balance of marine ecosystems for millions of years. Today, however, habitat degradation, marine pollution, and human activities continue to threaten their survival. As part of its commitment to environmental conservation, PT United Tractors Tbk (UT), in collaboration with its fostered community partner, Ori Ma Fala Foundation, organizes a sea turtle hatchling release at Tobololo Beach, Ternate, North Maluku, on July 4, 2026. The initiative reflects a shared commitment to protecting marine biodiversity and preserving coastal ecosystems for future generations.

The hatchling release demonstrates the strong collaboration between UT and the Ori Ma Fala Foundation, a community organization supported by the Company that is dedicated to sea turtle conservation and environmental preservation. More than a symbolic act of returning hatchlings to their natural habitat, the activity highlights the importance of partnerships among the private sector, local communities, and the wider public in safeguarding Indonesia’s rich marine biodiversity.

On the occasion, Muhammad Taufik Irmansyah, Branch Operation Head of UT Manado, reaffirms that environmental stewardship remains integral to the Company’s commitment to creating sustainable value for both people and the planet.

“Protecting the environment requires the collective efforts of all stakeholders. Through our partnership with the Ori Ma Fala Foundation, we aim not only to support sea turtle conservation but also to empower local communities to play an active role in preserving marine ecosystems. We hope this initiative contributes to a healthier environment and leaves a meaningful legacy for future generations,” says Muhammad Taufik Irmansyah.

The program begins with a visit to the sea turtle conservation center supported by UT, where participants gain firsthand insight into the Foundation’s conservation efforts, from protecting nests to nurturing hatchlings before their release. Following welcoming remarks from representatives of UT and the Ori Ma Fala Foundation, participants gather at Tobololo Beach to release the hatchlings into the sea, marking the highlight of the day’s activities.

Beyond the hatchling release, the event also serves as an educational platform to raise public awareness about the importance of protecting sea turtles as a protected species. Participants are encouraged to help preserve nesting habitats, reduce marine pollution, and support ongoing conservation initiatives as essential steps toward maintaining healthy and sustainable coastal ecosystems.

Through its partnership with the Ori Ma Fala Foundation, UT continues to strengthen the capacity of local communities to independently manage and sustain conservation programs. This initiative reflects the Company’s broader commitment to integrating environmental stewardship with community empowerment through its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programs.

For UT, protecting nature goes beyond conserving biodiversity, it also means ensuring that future generations continue to benefit from Indonesia’s extraordinary natural heritage. Together with the Ori Ma Fala Foundation and local communities, the Company remains committed to advancing collaborative conservation initiatives that contribute to a more sustainable future.
