Bandung, November 26th,2022 – To welcome World AIDS day this December, PT United Tractors Tbk (UT) through its health CSR program (UTCARE) collaborated with the Faculty of Medicine (FK) Padjadjaran University (Unpad) to organize an interactive talkshow with the theme “Defying The Stigma Against HIV/AIDS from Various Perspectives”. This activity aims to increase public awareness and knowledge regarding HIV/AIDS.

In addition, this activity is a form of a campaign to support the elimination of stigma against HIV/AIDS patients and also as a form of implementation of the principles of Environmental, Social, Governance (ESG) and Diversity, Equity, Inclusion (DEI). In its implementation, this event was held in a hybrid manner at Bale Rumawat Unpad Dipati Ukur, Bandung with a total of 139 participants and also through a zoom meeting with 78 participants.

This Interactive talk show is a series of the “PREVENT HIV START FROM NOW: Raising Awareness and Supporting Community to Prevent HIV” program after the HIV/AIDS Ground Campaign was held at Gasibu Field, Bandung on November 20, 2022. This activity presented 3 speakers namely dr. Bagus Rahmat Prabowo, MScPH (Representative of the Joint United Nations Program on HIV and AIDS (UNAIDS) Indonesia), dr. Ira Dewi Jani, M.T. (Head of the Bandung City Health Office’s P2P Division), and Iwan Djugo (Head of the Indonesian Puzzle Education and Media Advocacy Division) provided information from the perspective of HIV/AIDS patients.

UT is always committed to contributing to the welfare and sustainability of the Indonesian people in all of its operational areas, especially through efforts to improve health and public awareness of HIV/AIDS and eliminate the stigma against ODHIV dan ODHA. In addition, through this activity, it is hoped that it can make a positive contribution to reducing the prevalence of HIV/AIDS in Indonesia.

At the end of the event, there was a Joint Declaration session “Stop Stigma HIV/AIDS” which was signed by various parties, namely representatives from UT, FK Unpad, UNAIDS Indonesia, Bandung City Health Office, and Puzzle Indonesia.

Also attending this activity was Erika Pratiwi (Head of the EHS Department), Meyta Hutapea (UT Health CSR Team Leader), Youth Cadres assisted by the UT Youth Movement and the various Disability Association (Perwadi) community as one of the deaf fellow communities in the city of Bandung. The involvement of the Perwadi community is part of the implementation of DEI in every UT operation by providing opportunities for deaf friends to participate in public spaces to eliminate the stigma against ODHIV and ODHA.
