PT Agincourt Resources (PTAR), a subsidiary of PT United Tractors Tbk (UT), once again earns two Subroto Awards 2025 from the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) of the Republic of Indonesia. The awards were presented to PTAR’s Deputy President Director, Ruli Tanio, at the Subroto Awards ceremony held in Jakarta on Friday (October 24, 2025).
PTAR receives two award categories: Innovative Mineral Community Development and Empowerment (PPM) through its Economic Independence Pillar program featuring Bagas Silua, which supports the advancement of local MSMEs, and Non-Tax State Revenue (PNBP) for Minerals in recognition of PTAR’s contribution and compliance with good governance in the ESDM sector.
Ruli Tanio states that this achievement reflects the company’s commitment to creating sustainable benefits for communities surrounding the mining area and supporting good mining governance.
“More than just a marketplace for MSME products, Bagas Silua was designed as a local economic ecosystem to improve people’s quality of life. We want to ensure that communities in Batang Toru and its surroundings have the opportunity to grow with us and remain self-reliant even after the mine ceases operation,” said Ruli Tanio.
Bagas Silua is part of PTAR’s Economic Independence pillar within its community development strategy. Through capacity building, product innovation, and market access expansion, PTAR fosters the creation of resilient and sustainable community-based business models aligned with Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 8, which promotes inclusive economic growth and decent work.
In the local language, Bagas Silua means Souvenir House. For the people of Batang Toru, this place is more than just a product showcase—it symbolizes new hope. Through Bagas Silua, PTAR helps local MSMEs develop their businesses, strengthen their competitiveness, and expand market opportunities, including through digital platforms.
“We hope Bagas Silua becomes a comfortable place for everyone to enjoy Batang Toru’s local delicacies while supporting local MSMEs. We will continue assisting so that local products can compete and bring pride to their own region,” said PTAR’s Senior Manager Community, Christine Pepah.
Since its launch in September 2024, Bagas Silua has served as a marketing hub for 32 MSMEs in Batang Toru and Muara Batang Toru sub-districts, South Tapanuli Regency, North Sumatra. Its diverse products reflect local richness, ranging from snacks such as taro chips, banana chips, watermelon chips, and purple coconut root chips, to creative works like South Tapanuli batik and ecoprint fabrics. Today, these featured products are not only sold at the physical Souvenir House but also available online. Still, they are also marketed online through bagassilua.id and Bagas Silua’s official social media channels, expanding the market reach for local MSME entrepreneurs.
With these two Subroto Awards 2025, PTAR reaffirms its commitment to being a mining company that focuses not only on operational performance but also on actively building a better future for communities surrounding its operations. For PTAR, the success of mining is not measured by the amount of mineral produced, but by how strong, independent, and prosperous the community becomes.
