Jambi, May 8, 2026 – Vocational education plays a vital role in preparing skilled talent to meet industry needs. In line with this commitment, PT United Tractors Tbk (UT), a subsidiary of PT Astra International Tbk (Astra), donates heavy equipment components to Jambi Polytechnic to support more practical and industry-relevant learning.
The initiative is part of the company’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) commitment through the UT for Education and Bright Future (UTFUTURE) pillar, which focuses on advancing education and enhancing the competencies of the younger generation. The donation is officially handed over by Ramos Julian, Branch Operation Head of UT Jambi Branch, to Ir. Hilda Porawati, M.T., Director of Jambi Polytechnic.
“We would like to express our sincere appreciation to UT Jambi Branch for its contribution to supporting the development of vocational education at Jambi Polytechnic. This donation of heavy equipment components serves as a valuable learning medium for our students to strengthen their technical competencies, enabling us to produce graduates who are highly skilled, competent, and well-prepared to meet the demands of the heavy equipment industry,” says Ir. Hilda Porawati, M.T.
The donated heavy equipment components are expected to provide students with more practical and hands-on learning experiences. By utilizing genuine heavy equipment components during practical sessions, students not only gain theoretical knowledge but also acquire direct experience in understanding the structure, functions, and operating mechanisms of heavy equipment. This practical exposure equips them with the technical competencies and confidence needed to enter the workforce.
For UT, collaboration between industry and educational institutions is a long-term investment in developing high-quality human capital. Supporting education goes beyond providing learning facilities; it also reflects the company’s commitment to fostering a learning ecosystem that remains relevant to the evolving needs of the industry.
“We believe that vocational education serves as a bridge connecting classroom learning with the real demands of the workplace. Through this donation of heavy equipment components, we hope students gain deeper practical experience and develop competencies that are aligned with industry developments. More importantly, we aim to build a long-term partnership with Jambi Polytechnic to create more initiatives that nurture outstanding talent for Indonesia,” says Ramos Julian.
In line with the spirit of Moving as One, UT continues to strengthen collaboration with educational institutions as part of its commitment to creating sustainable social impact. Through the UTFUTURE program, the company remains committed to expanding access to quality education, enhancing the competencies of the younger generation, and strengthening the link between education and industry.
