Delivery of humanitarian assistance from United Tractors for disaster-affected communities in South Tapanuli was carried out through the National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB).

Jakarta, 1 December 2025 – As part of its rapid response to the recent natural disasters affecting several areas in Sumatra and Aceh, PT United Tractors Tbk (UT) mobilizes immediate humanitarian assistance through its disaster-focused corporate social responsibility (CSR) program, UTACTION.

“Our top priority is to support evacuation efforts and provide recovery assistance as quickly as possible, in close coordination and collaboration with multiple stakeholders,” says Social Responsibility and Communications Manager UT, Himawan Sutanto.

In West Sumatra, particularly in Agam Regency and Bukittinggi, UT deploys heavy equipment to help clear road access blocked by disaster debris. Essential relief supplies are also distributed through UT’s Padang Branch to support the basic needs of affected residents.

Meanwhile, in North Sumatra, including the areas of Sibolga and Tapanuli, UT, together with PT Pamapersada Nusantara (PAMA) and PT Agincourt Resources (PTAR), deploys a joint Emergency Response Team (ERT). The team provides logistical support, food packages, public kitchen equipment, and heavy equipment assistance to aid evacuation and emergency response operations. Assistance is also extended to Aceh, where UT’s field team arrives and coordinates with local disaster response posts that serve as distribution centers for communities in the region.

Additional humanitarian aid is handed over directly through the National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB) at the Base Operation (Baseops) facility in Halim Perdanakusuma. In addition to these efforts, PT Agincourt Resources (PTAR) provides significant support for affected communities in South Tapanuli. PTAR establishes four disaster response posts in Batu Hula, Sumuran, Sopo Daganak, and the sub-district office, collectively accommodating more than 700 displaced residents. Each post is equipped with medical services, public kitchens, dedicated cooks, and other essential facilities. These shelters serve communities from various impacted villages, including Garoga, Hutagodang, Batu Horing, Lapotorop, and Batu Hula.

PTAR also distributes essential supplies, including ready-to-eat meals, basic food packages, and drinking water. Food assistance is additionally delivered to remote and hard-to-reach locations, including Huta Raja. Clothing and sanitation support, such as proper attire, blankets, and hygiene kits are provided to ensure the comfort and well-being of evacuees. Medical services are delivered by trained healthcare personnel, accompanied by the distribution of medicines to all shelters.

To support evacuation and rescue operations, PTAR deploys its Emergency Response Team (ERT) along with specialized equipment, including rubber boats. The company also operates as an emergency service hub through a centralized call center that coordinates directly with relevant authorities. To enhance mobility and accelerate aid distribution, PTAR deploys a helicopter, which also supports PLN technicians in restoring the electricity network. Heavy equipment, such as excavators and dump trucks, is also mobilized to assist local governments in reopening blocked roads and repairing bridges damaged by landslides.

Through this series of rapid response actions, the UT Group reaffirms its commitment to being present and delivering tangible support to communities affected by disasters. With strong coordination and sustained support, UT Group aims to ensure a smooth and safe recovery process across all affected regions. The Group remains dedicated to strengthening preparedness, enhancing the capacity of its emergency response teams, and ensuring that all aid is delivered effectively to support the restoration of daily life for communities in need.
