Way Kanan, 20 November 2025 – The Besai Kemu Run-of-River Hydropower Plant is a renewable energy asset of PT United Tractors Tbk (UT) through PT Energia Prima Nusantara (EPN) and PT Uway Energi Perdana (UEP). The facility has a capacity of 2 × 3.5 MW and consistently supplies 33.4 GWh of electricity per year to PT PLN (Persero). With this capacity, the Besai Kemu Hydropower Plant (PLTM) is able to provide electricity equivalent to the needs of approximately 16,000 to 22,000 households annually.

As part of its commitment to supporting the national energy transition program and enhancing transparency to the public, the UT Group facilitates a media visit to the Besai Kemu PLTM located in Way Kanan Regency, Lampung Province, on 20 November 2025. This activity aims to provide education on clean energy, showcase the practical implementation of the UT Group’s business transformation strategy toward a low-carbon future, and strengthen strategic partnerships with the media.

Through its renewable energy business line, the UT Group continues to implement its corporate transformation strategy toward a low-carbon future by developing hydropower plants, solar power systems, and hybrid microgrid solutions equipped with energy storage technology.

“The Besai Kemu Run-of-River Hydropower Plant is a tangible example of United Tractors Group’s contribution to supporting the national energy transition program. Through a stable and environmentally friendly electricity supply, this plant not only strengthens regional energy resilience but also contributes to reducing carbon emissions through the sustainable utilization of water resources,” said Director of EPN, Boy Gemino Kalauserang.

As part of its social and environmental responsibility, the media visit also includes a tree-planting ceremony within the Besai Kemu operational area and the distribution of 100 economically valuable fruit tree seedlings, such as mango and durian, to nearby communities, including residents of Kemu Village and other villages within the operational area.

According to President Director of UEP, Asep Iwan Gunawan, this activity is an integral part of the company’s commitment to growing together with the surrounding communities. “Renewable energy is not only about technology; it is also about how we build long-term relationships with nearby communities. Through our tree-planting program and distribution of productive seedlings, we hope the operational benefits of the plant can be felt more widely, strengthen the local economy, and preserve the environment around our operational areas,” Asep stated.

The UT Group believes that the development of renewable energy is a strategic component in supporting Indonesia’s clean energy mix, while also opening opportunities for sustainable growth for industries and communities. “Through initiatives like this media visit, we hope the public can see that energy transformation is not merely a discourse, but a real, ongoing effort involving multiple stakeholders,” Boy added.

The event is also attended by UT Group management and regional stakeholders, including Boy Gemino Kalauserang, Director of EPN; Asep Iwan Gunawan, President Director of UEP; Ari Setiyawan, Corporate Secretary of UT; Himawan Sutanto, Corporate Communications Manager of UT; as well as representatives from local government and community leaders, including Nasrullah Ali, Banjit Subdistrict Head; Rambat, Village Head of Kemu; Mujianto, Village Head of Campang 8; Iwan Setiawan, Village Head of Bonglai; Iskandar, Village Head of Sumber Sari; Darmawan Susanto from the Village-Owned Enterprise; Captain Cpa. Mardong Pardede, Commander of Banjit Military Subdistrict Command; and Iptu Mukhtiar, Chief of Banjit Police Sector.

Sekilas Tentang PT Energia Prima Nusantara
