Jakarta, January 18th,2023 – In commemoration of the National Occupational Health Safety (OHS) month PT United Tractors Tbk (UT) is holding the 2023 AHEMCE (Astra Heavy Equipment Mining Construction & Energy) OHS month with the theme “Implementing Safety, Health and Environment culture in Every Business Line  to Ensure the Realization of Sustainability”.

AHEMCE 2023 OHS Month, which will be held from 16 January to early March 2023 was officially opened on Wednesday, (18/01) at UT Head Office, Cakung, East Jakarta. This program aims to emphasize the Company’s commitment in prioritizing compliance aspect of business operation, sustainability principles, and ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance).

The Director of UT, Edhie Sarwono in his speech emphasized to achieve the sustainability of UT Group properly, the management must apply an OHS culture as the principal to achieve the ESG targets that have been set. Mr. Edhie Sarwono added that the entire UT Group must unite and be solid to bring a positive impact, which refers to the Company’s Triple-P Roadmap, namely Portfolio, People, and Public Contribution to build the nation.

“The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) are increasingly being discussed, being inseparable from global ambitions with a focus on reducing the earth’s temperature that is increasingly concerning and has an impact on climate anomalies. Therefore, let’s carry out a sustainable business to support Indonesia in achieving Net Zero Emissions in 2060 or sooner. In the environmental field, the AHEMCE Group companies have received ISO 14001 certification in 2015 and UT as the holding company has succeeded in achieving a national PROPER green rating in 2022,” said Edhie Sarwono.

On the other hand, AHEMCE 2023 OHS Month is UT’s effort in responding to the rapid technology development. For the Company, the application of OHS culture has been aligned with the ESG implementation for all employees are collectively able to respond to challenges and potential hazards and risks arising from technological developments in work field by prioritizing sustainability aspects.

As mandated in Law No. 1 of 1970 concerning Work Safety, the commitment to carry out OHS-based business processes in all company activities applies to all employees up to the executive level. Fundamentally, the OHS month commitment is to guarantee, protect, and ensure the safety and health of the workforce by delivering the OHS culture as fundamental priority in UT’s business strategy.

Press Carbon Emissions Together

At the opening of the 2023 AHEMCE OHS Month, UT invited the Company’s internal to ESG implementation in the environmental sector by distributing plants to all employees who were present at the event. This initiative aims to reducing carbon emissions and to increase awareness of protecting the environment.

Over the next month, the series of AHEMCE 2023 OHS activities will be filled with educational and interesting activities, namely Drop-it Challenge, LK3 (SHE) webinars, drug workshops, UT FIT, Senam Sehat AHEMCE, LK3 (SHE) campaign competitions, quizzes, ESG innovations, Behavior Based Safety Quality (BBSQ) Competition, Green Warehouse Competition, Green Workshop Competition, Green Office Competition, Green Mess Competition, Green Yard Competition, first aid training, Emergency Response Team (TKTD) training, TKTD competition, and Risk Hunter Competition.

UT hopes that the activities given can increase awareness and vigilance in implementing the OHS culture, to achieve zero accidents and create a work environment that supports sustainability aspects to ensure business longevity.
