To support understanding and increase awareness of the importance of reproductive health, PT United Tractors Tbk (UT) collaborated with the National Population and Family Planning Agency (BKKBN) to organize reproductive health outreach, which is located at the Tangerang Class I Penitentiary (LPKA Lapas Tangerang)  (20/07/2023).

UT, through its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) in the health sector, United Tractors for Community Health Responsibility (UTCARE), organizes this activity as a commitment to ensure access to timely and accurate information related to reproductive health. This activity addresses the serious challenges the assisted communities face in preventing sexually transmitted diseases (STDs) and comprehensive reproductive health care.

UT’s CSR Manager, Himawan Sutanto, said that UT will continue to strive to organize programs like this through collaboration with various parties to have a wider positive impact on creating a sustainable, healthy Indonesia.

“UT certainly understands the importance of reproductive health in developing quality families and communities. Therefore, this collaboration with the BKKBN is a concrete step in bringing reproductive health information and services closer to those who need them, including juvenile prisoners at LPKA Lapas Tangerang,” said Himawan Sutanto.

In its implementation, this reproductive health socialization was delivered directly by Dr. Eni Gustina, MPH, as Deputy for Family Planning and Reproductive Health. Event participants include juvenile prisoners who are in correctional institutions, as well as authorities within the Tangerang Lapas LPKA. Young prisoners are given insight into the importance of reproductive health knowledge in planning a better future.

The material presented was about the importance of avoiding high-risk behavior, efforts to prevent STDs, the importance of HIV testing, and the importance of caring for reproductive health in general. In addition, participants were also given information about available medical services in correctional facilities to support their reproductive health.

Through this collaboration, UT hopes to build a sustainable positive momentum in caring for reproductive health, encouraging meaningful social change, and impacting a healthier and more prosperous society.
