Jakarta, 5 August 2026 – Demonstrating its commitment to vocational education in the heavy equipment sector, PT United Tractors Tbk (UT), in collaboration with the Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education through the National Achievement Center (Puspresnas), organized the 2026 National Student Competency Competition (LKS) for secondary education in Heavy Vehicle Technology.
The competition took place over three days, with registration and the opening ceremony on July 28, the competition on July 29, and the closing ceremony on July 30, 2026. The event also featured a technical meeting, safety induction, health screenings, the signing of a cooperation agreement, a sharing session, and the presentation of competency certificates.
Held at the United Tractors Corporate University (CorpU), the event saw participation from 25 top vocational high school (SMK) students representing 25 provinces across Indonesia. It also marked a historic milestone with the victory of Nia Aulia Jayanti from East Java, reflecting the growing participation of women in Heavy Vehicle Technology.
The Head of Puspresnas, Dr. Maria Veronica Irene Herdjiono, S.E., M.Si., and the Director of Vocational High Schools at the Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education, Dr. Arie Wibowo Khurniawan, S.Si., M.Ak., attended the event. Also present were PT United Tractors Tbk.’s management team, judges from United Tractors, UTSchool, and Agus Suyitno (Head of the Indonesian Heavy Equipment Professional Certification Institute/LSP ABI), as well as accompanying teachers and the top student participants from 25 Indonesian provinces.
“For United Tractors, the National LKS is not merely a competition; it is part of our commitment to building a vocational education ecosystem in the heavy equipment sector. We hope that collaboration between the education sector and the industry will continue to produce Indonesia’s best talents, ready to compete on the international stage,” said Dianwahyu Sri Purnomo, Head of UT’s Corporate Communication & Sustainability Division.
The Execution of the 2026 National LKS
The LKS strengthened alignment between vocational education and the industry, serving as a tangible step toward an ecosystem that fosters competent and principled vocational talent ready to compete in the workforce. All participants received health screenings and Heavy Equipment Operator Competency Certification (P3) through LSP ABI. The first-place winner was also awarded a full scholarship to ASTRAtech, while top talents will receive intensive coaching to advance to the WorldSkills Competition (WSC).
Through the LKS, UT enhances the technical competence of vocational high school (SMK) students and supports the development of the vocational education ecosystem in the heavy equipment sector, aiming to produce a workforce that is competent, principled, and ready to compete in the professional world.
