Central Java, October 4, 2026 – Industry-relevant competencies play a vital role in preparing vocational high school students to enter the workforce. To strengthen these competencies, PT United Tractors Tbk (UT), in collaboration with the Directorate of Vocational High Schools (SMK) under Indonesia’s Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education (Kemendikdasmen RI), organizes a Heavy Equipment Engineering Training and Competency Certification Program at SMK Tunas Harapan Pati, Central Java.

The program brings together 82 twelfth-grade students from SMK Tunas Harapan Pati and SMK Kesuma Margoyoso for technical training and competency certification assessments conducted by the ABI Professional Certification Institute (LSP ABI). This initiative reflects UT’s commitment to strengthening the alignment between vocational education and industry needs while equipping students with competencies relevant to workforce demands.

In addition to training and competency certification, UT provides practical training equipment to SMK Tunas Harapan Pati and SMK Kesuma Margoyoso. This support aims to enhance hands-on learning opportunities, enabling students to further develop their technical skills and gain a deeper understanding of industry standards and practices.

UT CSR Manager, Himawan Sutanto, emphasizes the importance of industry involvement in ensuring that students acquire competencies aligned with real-world workforce requirements.

“We hope this training and certification program can serve as a bridge between education and industry, equipping students with relevant competencies and better preparing them to enter the workforce,” says Himawan.

Through this initiative, students gain technical knowledge and practical experience while assessing their abilities and earning formal recognition of their competencies. The program also aims to build students’ confidence and strengthen their readiness to pursue careers in the heavy equipment industry.

Director of Vocational High Schools, Dr. Arie Wibowo Khurniawan, expresses his appreciation for the collaboration among educational institutions, the government, and industry stakeholders. He also highlights the importance of creating pathways from competency certification to employment opportunities, enabling more vocational high school graduates to transition directly into the workforce.

Leveraging its expertise and experience in the heavy equipment sector, UT remains committed to advancing vocational education through strategic collaboration with various stakeholders. Through initiatives such as this program, UT continues to strengthen synergies between education and industry, contributing to the development of a skilled, adaptable, and industry-ready generation capable of supporting Indonesia’s sustainable progress.
