United Tractors Provides Support for Three Delegations of Soina Athletes at the 2023 Special Olympics World Summer Games in Germany

The extrication of the three Soina athletes by UT and the DKI Jakarta Diaspora at the Jakarta International Verdrome Field.

Jakarta, May 6th,2023 – PT United Tractors Tbk (UT) is collaborating with the DKI Jakarta Youth and Sports Service (Diaspora) in providing support to three Special Olympic Indonesia (SOIna) athletes who will take part in the championship at the Special Olympics World Summer Games (SOWSG) ) 2023. Before heading to the SOWSG championship, UT, with the DKI Jakarta Provincial Diaspora, we carried out the extrication of the SOIna delegation, which took place at the Jakarta International Verdrome Field.

Three delegates from DKI Jakarta Province will represent Indonesia at the SOWSG at this extrication. The three delegations consisted of two athletes: Latipah Zahfir from artistic gymnastics, Afrah Nada A. from rhythmic gymnastics, and coach Elma Maulida W. from table tennis. The three delegations will undergo a national training camp (Pelatnas) for approximately one month, starting on May 7th, 2023, in Semarang and then departing for Berlin, Germany.

Through the “Inspiring Youth” program, UT supports outstanding young athletes to maximize their potential. In this case, UT with the DKI Jakarta Diaspora guides athletes with disabilities to develop their abilities, mentally and physically. UT implemented this effort as a form of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI).

UT also collaborates with Special Olympic Indonesia (SOIna) Jakarta Branch in conducting training. SOIna is the only organization in Indonesia that has received accreditation from Special Olympics International (SOI) to organize sports training and competitions for mentally retarded (intellectually disabled) citizens in Indonesia.

“This collaboration is not only to provide support to athletes with disabilities, but as a form of the Company’s responsibility to the surrounding community. For additional information, SOWSG is the world’s largest inclusive sports event, which will be held for nine days. This event provides opportunities for people with disabilities and non-disabilities from various countries. SOWSG has been held in 26 countries and will now be held for the 16th time in Berlin, Germany, on 12-25 June 2023. This event will be animated by 7,000 Special Olympics athletes and Unified partners from 170 countries to compete in 26 sports.
