The national SOBAT 2023 webinar was conducted via Zoom meeting.

PT United Tractors Tbk (UT), through its School Development Program (SOBAT), organized the National SOBAT 2023 webinar with the theme “Exploring and Strengthening the Implementation Level of Link and Match (8+i) to TEFA Realization between Vocational Schools and Higher Education Institutions with the business world, the industrial world, and the world of work (DUDIKA).” This webinar serves as one of the strategies to enhance the impact of the SOBAT program through widespread public awareness, particularly in the field of vocational education. It was conducted online on September 23, 2023.

The National SOBAT 2023 webinar aimed to position the SOBAT program as the top of mind and a benchmark for ‘link and match’ in improving the quality of vocational education in Indonesia. Specifically, the program discussed the latest policies from the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology (Kemendikbudristek), Directorate General of Vocational Education, while aligning Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) goals with partner schools. It also outlined the objectives of the SOBAT program for the year 2025 and sought to enhance collaboration between the industry, the ministry, and vocational schools.

The webinar centered around the discussion on implementing ‘link and match’ and the realization of the Teaching Factory (TEFA) between vocational schools and higher education institutions. The discussion was presented by two speakers, Wikan Sakarinto (SOBAT Program Advisor) and Dimas Aryo Wicaksono (CSR Leader at UT). Both emphasized the importance of analyzing and strengthening the implementation of the link-and-match strategy for effective collaboration between vocational schools and higher education institutions.

The National SOBAT 2023 webinar successfully attracted 610 participants from all over Indonesia, including educators, administrators, school leaders, and students from vocational schools and higher education institutions. The hope is that UT can consistently provide collaborative opportunities between vocational schools, higher education institutions, and the business and industrial sectors and make a significant contribution to the advancement of vocational education in Indonesia.

“We believe this collaboration will create a new generation ready to compete in the workforce. UT will continue to support the Indonesian government’s efforts to develop vocational education through the SOBAT program,” said Himawan Susanto, CSR Manager at UT.

Keynote speakers at the event include Uuf Brajawidagda, S.T., M.T., Ph.D. (Acting Director of Partnerships and Coordination of DUDI at the Directorate General of Vocational Education, Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology), Himawan Sutanto (CSR Manager at UT), Wikan Sakarinto (SOBAT Advisor), Dimas Aryo Wicaksono (CSR Leader at UT), Imron Effendi, S.P., M.Pd.
