This festival is an annual event held every October by SMK Bakti Karya Parigi. Fostered by UT, this school  has majors in broadcasting and film. In this activity, students display their native language through speeches, fairy tales, poetry, singing, and in cultural discussions. In addition, they also display works of poetry, theater, and collaborative works unique to the culture of the archipelago.

This collaboration is the Company’s effort to actualize one of its 2030 Sustainability Aspirations, namely DEI (Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion) Through this event, UT continues to strive to enhance DEI externally. This collaboration involves students from 23 tribes in Indonesia by presenting various cultures. The majority of participants are vocational and junior high school students who are expected to participate in preserving cultural diversity and also strengthening unity in Indonesia.

“Cultural diversity is one of the unique things in the world. The whole world has a diversity of tribes, races, religions, and so on. From this diversity, Indonesian culture was born, such as traditional houses, clothes, ceremonies, dances, musical instruments and songs, weapons, and a variety of regional cuisines. To preserve Indonesian culture, we invite students and communities from various regions in Indonesia to participate in this event,” said Irma Muka Aziz, Principal of Pangandaran Nature School.

In its execution, the 28 Language Festival introduces Indonesian language and cultural diversity with a series of events, such as workshops, oration in 28 local languages, Nusantara Food Festival, Wayang Golek Performance, and various other activities to uphold the diversity of nature, culture and local wisdom.

As a company that cares about the sustainability of diversity, UT is here to contribute through the UTFUTURE (United Tractors for Education and Bright Future) CSR program with efforts to advance education in Indonesia. This event was attended by students from all over Indonesia who came from various provinces and ethnic groups. By participating in this event, it is hoped that participants and visitors can increase their knowledge about the diversity of cultures and languages that exist in Indonesia.

“We give our highest appreciation for the collaboration that has taken place so far. Through activities that uphold DEI, UT continues to strive to promote sustainability principles that have a positive impact on society through the implementation of ESG (Environment, Social, and Governance),” said Himawan Sutanto, UT’s CSR Manager.
