To support the reduction of stunting rates in Indonesia, PT United Tractors Tbk (UT) collaborated with Tribun Network and the National Population and Family Planning Agency (BKKBN) through the “Semesta Mencegah Stunting” campaign program with the #CukupDuaTelur movement. This program will be carried out in six points in Indonesia, including Medan, Sorong, Tanjung Redeb, Lampung, Central Java, and Malino, from 28 August to 31 September 2023.

‘Semesta Mencegah Stunting’ is an intensive intervention and mentoring program for regional children in Indonesia. UT provides 15,000 eggs through this program, which are important in fulfilling children’s nutrition and preventing stunting. This step is UT’s commitment to accelerating sustainable development in Indonesia and a form of support for Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) point 3, namely a healthy and prosperous life.

“Accelerating the reduction of stunting is a national priority in creating quality and highly competitive Indonesian human resources. UT is contributing to improving the nutritional status of Indonesian families by fully supporting the #CukupDuaTelur campaign with Tribun Network and BKKBN, which aims to improve the quality of life for future generations,” said Himawan Sutanto, UT’s CSR Manager.

The first area where Semesta Menegah Stunting campaign was implemented was the city of Medan on 28 August 2023. The assistance provided was in the form of eggs and additional food, such as vitamins and milk. The implementation of this program is in the Medan Selayang District Hall. In the future, the public will also be educated on food and vitamin management. Meanwhile, the second location for this program is in Sorong on August 29, 2023. In collaboration with the BKKBN and PKK of Southwest Papua Province, UT distributed eggs to Posyandu Aisyiyah participants at the TP-PKK office of Southwest Papua Province.

Then, in the third area to prevent stunting, Tanjung Redeb, the UT team, BKKBN, and Tribun Network distributed eggs to children at Posyandu Kendari, Berau Regency, on August 31, 2023. The problem of stunting in this area is not only rooted in poor economic levels but also due to a lack of socialization. Along with this, BKKBN provides education regarding the prevention and handling of stunting.

In our efforts to alleviate stunting, we have identified Lampung as the fourth area requiring attention. To this end, UT and Tribun Network collaborated to distribute eggs to the local community and raise awareness on stunting prevention on 11 September 2023. Moving on to the fifth area, Semarang in Central Java, the UT Team and Tribun Network distributes two eggs daily to the public to combat stunting. On 19 September 2023, UT representatives handed eggs to toddlers at Semarang City Hall as a symbolic gesture towards stunting prevention.

The sixth area where a stunting prevention campaign was carried out was Malino. The event occurred at Balai Penyuluhan KB Keseluruhan Malino in Tinggimoncong District, Gowa Regency, South Sulawesi, on 28 September 2023. During the program, children identified as stunted were provided with three racks of eggs each to prevent stunting. This initiative, carried out by UT in collaboration with Tribun Network and BKKBN, significantly reduced the stunting rate. It resulted in a 53% reduction in the stunting rate.

Stunting is a critical issue that needs to be addressed immediately as it will impede the realization of Indonesia’s golden generation by 2045. The consumption of animal protein foods, such as eggs, can help prevent stunting. This aligns with the #EnoughTwoEggs campaign since eggs are the most accessible source of animal protein. Moreover, the price is quite affordable, making it a feasible solution for combating stunting.

UT will consistently strive to provide social benefits in the community by implementing the Social Responsibility program in the health sector UTCARE (United Tractors for Community Health Responsibility). It is an ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) implementation in every Company’s business operations area.
