United Tractors remains committed to making genuine contributions to the nation’s development, particularly the welfare and sustainability of the Indonesian people, in all aspects of the company’s operations. One of the most significant contributions was the provision of assistance for 100 temporary housing units for communities affected by Mount Semeru’s eruption.

Djoko Pranoto, Commissioner of PT United Tractors Tbk (UT), and the Board of Directors and management of UT Group were present on this occasion to provide a direct handover in the form of temporary shelter facilities (huntara) for communities affected by the Mount Semeru Eruption disaster in Lumajang Regency, Java East.

This activity began on December 6, 2021 and was completed in stages. The first phase is the disaster emergency response phase, in which UT Group distributes aid in the form of appropriate clothing, basic necessities, medicines, tarpaulins, and blankets, as well as building health posts and public kitchens. UT Group also brought in five units of heavy equipment, including excavators and single drum rollers, to help with victim evacuation, land clearing, and the process of compacting materials (soil, sand, stone) in road construction.

In the second phase, the UT Group constructed emergency school facilities at several locations, toilet facilities at two locations, and shelters for victims with a 100-unit temporary housing system. This stage was completed to assist in the rehabilitation process in Lumajang following Mount Semeru’s eruption.

“The handover of 100 shelter units is part of UT’s disaster CSR program, which aims to realize our commitment to increasing and developing the capacity of communities affected by the Mount Semeru eruption to become more alert, alert, and responsive to disasters,” said Iwan Hadiantoro, Director of United Tractors.

From February to June 2022, the construction of 100 shelter units was focused on Sumbermujur Village, Candipuro District, Lumajang Regency. The UT Group hopes that the assistance provided will benefit the community and that Lumajang will be able to resume normal operations as soon as possible.
