Lumajang, July 7th 2022 – A total of 100 units of shelters (temporary housing) are ready to be occupied by people affected by the eruption of Mount Semeru in Lumajang, East Java. This assistance is part of the UT Group’s CSR program to contribute to disaster management in Indonesia, especially in Lumajang.

The handover of 100 shelter units is United Tractors’ commitment as stated in the Moving as One principle, to make a real contribution to the sustainability of Indonesia society in all areas of the company’s operations. United Tractors’ commitment to community development and welfare is a form of the company’s sustainable business to prioritize the implementation of ESG.

On the other hand, United Tractors also distributed other assistance which was carried out in two phases. In the first phase, UT Group distributed donations of suitable clothes, basic necessities, medicines, tarpaulins and blankets, as well as building a health center and public kitchen. Moreover, UT Group also brought in five units of heavy equipment such as excavators and single drum rollers to assist in the evacuation of victims, land clearing, and the process of compacting materials (soil, sand, stone) in road construction.

In the second phase, UT Group built emergency school facilities in several places, toilet facilities in two places, and built 100 temporary shelters for the victims. This stage is carried out in order to help accelerate the rehabilitation process in Lumajang after the eruption of Mount Semeru. The construction of 100 shelter units began from February to June 2022, which was focused on Sumbermujur Village, Candipuro District, Lumajang.

This process was successful because of UT’s collaboration with various parties, including Pemprov Jakarta Timur, Pemkab Lumajang, BPBD Kab. Lumajang, BPBD Kab. Malang, Pemda Kab. Malang, Kelurahan Curah Kobokan, Dinas PU, PUPR, Kementerian ESDM, BAZNAS, TNI and Polri, BASARNAS, Sekolah Binaan UT (SOBAT) Area Malang, and Desa Jarit.

UT CSR program was initiated by UT Group company members, such as PT United Tractors Tbk, PT Pamapersada Nusantara (PAMA), PT Agincourt Resources (PTAR), Yayasan Karya Bakti UT (YKBUT), PT Tuah Turangga Agung (TTA), PT Kalimantan Prima Persada (KPP), PT Bina Pertiwi (BP), PT Komatsu Remanufacturing Asia (KRA), PT United Tractors Pandu Engineering (UTE), PT Acset Indonusa Tbk (ACSET) and PT Traktor Nusantara (TN).
