Jakarta, November 17, 2023 – In the pursuit of quality vocational education, PT United Tractors Tbk (UT) strengthens its commitment by signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Balai Besar Pengembangan Penjaminan Mutu Pendidikan Vokasi Bidang Mesin dan Teknik Industri (BBPPMPV BMTI) on November 7, 2023, at Bale Binangkit Building, Cimahi, West Java. This MoU signing pertains to collaboration in implementing vocational education programs relevant to the business and industrial sectors.

UT’s CSR Manager, Himawan Sutanto, revealed that through this partnership, UT is committed to accelerating the improvement of students’ and teachers’ competencies by engaging in upskilling and reskilling activities related to Heavy Equipment Engineering. Enhancing vocational education competencies is part of the company’s efforts to implement sustainability principles through Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) practices.

“This collaboration is a milestone for UT in making a tangible contribution to the field of education. UT will consistently strive to contribute positively to the future of Indonesian education by providing full support, including curriculum alignment, competency enhancement, development and utilization of facilities, and organizing vocational competitions,” said Himawan Sutanto.

In addition to signing the MoU, UT donated heavy equipment practical tools to BBPPMPV BMTI in the form of Komatsu Forklift FD30C-16. CSR Team Leader Dimas Aryo carried out the symbolic handover of this assistance to the Head of BBPPMPV BMTI, Supriyono, M.Sc. This heavy equipment assistance supports students in enhancing their competencies, thereby fostering the continuity of the next generation with high-quality skills in the heavy equipment field.

Key figures present at the event included the Head of BBPPMPV BMTI, Supriyono, M.Sc.; Director General of Vocational Education, Dr. Ir. Kiki Yuliati, M.Sc.; Chairman of BNSP, Kunjung Masehat; Secretary of the Directorate General of Vocational Education, Satyadi; and Director of DUDI Partnerships, Uuf Braja. Through this collaboration, UT and BBPPMPV BMTI can jointly develop vocational education in Indonesia’s machine and industrial engineering field. Additionally, it is expected that vocational graduates will possess skills and knowledge relevant to industry demands, thereby enhancing the nation’s competitiveness on a global scale.

UT recognizes the industry’s crucial role in shaping a better future for the nation. As part of its commitment to sustainable business practices, UT will strive to optimize the demographic bonus that can add value to Indonesia in the coming years. UT has supported 1,614 schools in Indonesia under the CSR education program (UTFUTURE).
