Yudistira, as representative of United Tractors management, Endang Tri Handajani, head of YKBUT, and Himawan Sutanto, Head of SRCOM attended the United Tractors (UTREES) Environmental CSR mangrove planting program in collaboration with the Navy.

Jakarta, July 26th, 2022 – PT United Tractors Tbk (UT), in collaboration with the Karya Bakti United Tractors Foundation (YKBUT), planted mangroves in Muara Tawar area of Bekasi Regency through the Environmental CSR program (UTREES). UT Group remains committed to reducing the spread of carbon in the atmosphere, one method being tree planting. In addition to absorbing carbon, mangroves protect the coast by preventing abrasion and providing habitat for marine life.

Muara Tawar is one of the locations for simultaneous mangrove planting carried out by the Indonesian Navy and the community. This planting was carried out in commemoration of World Mangrove Day where the Indonesian Navy adopted the theme ‘The Mangroves Save Our Earth’. This planting was carried out simultaneously in 77 points spread throughout Indonesia. In Muara Tawar alone as many as 3,500 mangrove trees were successfully planted in this activity.

This program was also attended by Mr. Yudistira as a management representative of PT United Tractors Tbk, Mrs. Endang Tri Handajani as head of Karya Bakti United Tractors Foundation (YKBUT), Mr. Himawan Sutanto as Head of Social Responsibility and Communication (SRCOM), First Admiral Herdiko as Inspector Kolinlamil, Drs. Dedy Supriyadi MM as Regional Secretary for Bekasi Regency, Bekasi Police Chief, Bekasi Dandim, Religious Leaders, Traditional Leaders, and Youth Leaders in the Muara Tawar Mangrove Area.

This cross-collaboration is one of United Tractors’ commitment to positively contributing to the environment through implementing ESG principles.

“This collaboration shows that United Tractors is a trusted and leading partner for the government in supporting the government’s net zero emission target. We have consistently planted numerous mangroves since 2012,” said Himawan Sutanto, Head of SRCOM UT.

UT believes that this collaboration can increase the positive impact of the mangrove planting program so that it can restore environmental sustainability in the surrounding area.
