Makassar, February 16th, 2023 – The high rainfall conditions in almost all around Makassar caused flooding in several areas. As a result, many residents had to evacuate to safer places. UT Group always realizes its commitment to carry out social responsibility and implementing ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) in the Company through various programs, including UTACTION (United Tractors for Emergency Response and Action), a CSR program in the field of Disaster Management. The program was implemented through activities carried out by UT Makassar Branch on Thursday, (16/02) by mobilizing volunteers to distribute support to employees’ families and affected communities.
The support distribution to employees’ families was carried out in Batua, Borong Raya, Sudiang, Minasa Upa, Gatot Subroto, and Monginsidi. Meanwhile, the support provided to the affected community was focused within UT Makassar Branch’s operational area, namely Karampuang Village. The support provided was 41 basic necessities packages for employees’ families and the community surrounding the Company’s operational area.
“The activities carried out were a concrete manifestation of UT’s concern for society, regardless of how close they are to the Company’s operational area. We strengthen ESG implementation to have more impact on society.” Said Anton, UT Makassar Branch Administration Department Head.
UT’s commitment to community development and welfare is a form of corporate sustainability contribution through ESG implementation. This is in accordance with the Company’s goal of creating added value for stakeholders and the Indonesian People.
