Jakarta – Monday, March 21, 2022, UT with Dharma Bhakti Astra Foundation (YDBA) held the inauguration ceremony of Cakung Business Development Institute (LPB) for UT Head Office’s fostered SMEs. This inauguration marked the kick-off of training and development programs of UT’s SMEs as part of UT GROWTH (United Tractors for Generating Opportunities and Wealth) Program.

The inauguration was carried out in hybrid, involving online attendance by Mr. Edhie Sarwono as Director of UT and Mr. Sigit P. Kumala as Chairman of YDBA, as well as offline attendance by Mrs. Sara K. Loebis as Head of UT Corporate Governance and Sustainability (CGS) Division, Mr. Edison Monoarfa as Head of YDBA Planning & Development Department, representatives of SMEs, as well as UT and YDBA team. The highlight of the inauguration ceremony was the ribbon-cutting procession conducted by Mrs. Sara and Mr. Edison.

The collaboration between UT and YDBA aims to improve and develop the SMEs’ competence in human resources and products aspects, to achieve business independency and development. The planned activities consist of two core programs, namely intensive and incubation. The seven SME sectors in UT Head Office’s ring 1 area consist of sewing group (KOJA), maggot cultivation, cricket cultivation, integrated farming, hydroponics and aquaponics, Joint Business Group (KUBE) and styrofoam crafts.

This collaboration is expected to support the company’s commitment to build the capacity of the fostered community and increase the commitment and enthusiasm of SME actors in line with the implementation of Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG).
